You want people to hear your problems. You want them to hear whats inside you; the very grindings of your soul, and you want them to love you for it. Sometimes you want them to hate you for it. Im the same, but then, Im a writer. People already hear my grindings. Writers, artists of any kind, musicians, we are creatures of sympathy. Were not always outwardly sympathetic, but we cant help but understand the way other people function. You read a shit book, and its shit because they didnt make you feel what you were supposed to feel. A false writer cant comprehend why the world turns. A true writer knows why it turns, but wonders why it doesnt stop.

An Enigma. There it is before you - smiling, frowning, inviting, grand, mean, insipid, or savage, and always mute with an air of whispering, Come and find out.
- Joseph Conrad, Heart of Darkness
I liked the bit about shit books, that's basically how I view art.
